BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, L.P. is a $116 million corporate venture fund sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, an association of independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The fund invests in promising emerging companies of strategic relevance to Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans.

The following eleven Plans have provided capital to the fund:

• Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania

• CareFirst (MD, VA, DC)
• Health Care Service Corporation (IL, TX, OK, NM)
• HealthNow (NY)
• Independence Blue Cross (PA)

Through an exclusive arrangement, management of the Fund is shared between participating Blue Plans, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, and Sandbox Industries.
